On January 4, when students, teachers, parents and community members return from Winter Break, they will find a new web site at www.meridianschools.org

The newly-designed web page will include the information from our current web site, along with new content that is intended to be more timely and presented in a format that organizes information for the most frequent users of the page.  In addition, the web site will include new features and design elements to help users find the information about the district that they are looking for:

• Tabs for students, teachers, parents and community members that organize content for each of these user groups.
• Hot links off the home page that go to the most sought after information on the web site including Powerschools, lunch menus, school calendars, Board meetings, school boundaries and bus stops, magnet programs, and curriculum.
• News and Note sections with current news stories that are designed for each user type that visits the page.
• A calendar on the home page with dates for the school calendar, upcoming Board of Trustee meetings, sporting events, and school-based music and drama programs that have been scheduled for the rest of the year.
• Home page news items about the most current district activities.
• Polls that provide the opportunity to give input on district programs or initiatives.
• A district newsletter that will send users e-mail updates on district activities, Board actions, new programs, etc.

In the end, the new website was re-designed to give each user more access to timely and relevant information about the school district.  The official launch date for the web site is January 4th, however you may see updates and changes to the sight prior to the start of school after winter break.
